Lake Baikal Ice Run

Ride For Charity

For the past 4 years The Adventurists have put on the Ice Run, raising money for Cool Earth, an organization that works alongside indigenous villages to halt rainforest destruction.

Teams travel from all over the world to participate in the ride.

Lake Baikal
The world's largest freshwater lake.

North of the Mongolian border, Lake Baikal is the world's deepest and oldest freshwater lake. 400 miles long and 13 miles wide, that's 17x the size of NYC.

Training will carry us along the North-western coast, across Olkhon Island where the support unit will drop back to fulfill a less conspicuous role.

We don't set a route, we just give you GPS coordinates of fuel drops and some particularly hazardous bits to avoid (best not to get the two mixed up).

The Adventurists

Winter temps usually average around -20°F.

However, last year was unusually mild. Always a good sign when riding motorcycles on ice.

Terrain varies, pack accordingly.

Traffic isn't really a problem.

All for charity (and way more fun than a telethon).
